Othello: from slave to sword

Here are the final two short videos of the Othello module of my lecture course on Shakespeare and his World: the first one explores the pre-history of the character, focusing on his account of how he was taken into slavery by the Ottomans; the second one asks about the meaning of the “sword of Spain” with which he takes his own life.
